Medical device company Ceragenix Pharmaceuticals has entered into an exclusive distribution and supply agreement with Megapharm Ltd., an Israeli company, to commercialise EpiCeram.

EpiCeram is a topical cream that utilises Ceragenix’s Barrier Repair Technology and is used to improve dry skin conditions and to relieve and manage the burning and itching associated with various dermatoses including atopic dermatitis (eczema), irritant contact dermatitis, radiation dermatitis, and other dry skin conditions by maintaining a moist wound and skin environment.

Though the financial terms of the contract were not disclosed, the agreement grants Megapharm exclusivity in the territory for the distribution and marketing of EpiCeram while Ceragenix will be responsible for the manufacturing and supply of the product. Megapharm is also responsible for obtaining regulatory clearance to market EpiCeram in the Territory.

Recently, Ceragenix entered into an exclusive evaluation and option to license agreement with Nobel Biocare, a restorative and esthetic dental solutions company wherein the latter will have an exclusive period to evaluate, negotiate commercialisation terms and license the company’s Cerashield antimicrobial technology for certain oral and cranial maxillofacial applications for a period of up to 11 months.
